Andrea Bailey was raised in a rural North Carolina town where she grew up on a small family farm with her mother, father and older brother, before he joined the Air Force. She spent her youth with friends, outside on the farm (mainly with the animals), visiting her grandmother or great aunt and uncle who lived next door, going to church with her family, trying a variety of extracurricular activities and endless hours on the stage of the community theater.
Andrea was always a social butterfly and easily made connections with others. Her parents decided to move to Missouri the summer before her senior year of high school which came with its own set of challenges, led her to making more connections, and meeting her now husband, Matt. Following their marriage, Andrea and Matt moved to South Carolina, back to Missouri, and finally made their home in Massachusetts.
Andrea graduated with her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from American International College. Together, Matt and Andrea have a wonderful daughter, Kegan, who is wise beyond her years, two dogs, a hamster and chickens. Andrea is now a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and owns Evolving Mind and Body which focuses on the connection between mental health and movement to process life events and build coping strategies. She took the opportunity to be a
part of this book to continue the processing of her own experiences and in hopes that people will be able to
find some part that resonates with them.
